Injunctions

Adoption? We can help.

Our Family Law Solicitors will help you regarding all types of family law matters including divorce, separations, Injunctions and other family-related matters. Our Family Solicitors are available over a phone call, email or in-person, whatever suits you.

An injunction is a civil court order directing a party to perform or refrain from performing a specific act. This is needed when you want to protect against personal harm, prevent damage to your reputation, prevent the loss of an asset, or protect your personal or commercial interests.

Before issuing an injunction, the court has to be convinced that there is a serious concern that needs to be resolved and that damages would be excessive. We advise our clients about pitfalls and implications that come with this type of matter and guide them through any problematic public relations and reputational concerns. We have a professional team of conflict resolution solicitors with a broad range of experience. You’re in safe hands if you really need an immediate solution.

The injunction can be of 2 types, interim injunction and final injunction. The court can issue an interim injunction at the beginning of the case. An interim injunction is a temporary restraining order that is normally issued awaiting a subsequent hearing or until the dispute is fully resolved. The final injunction might be either permanent or limited to a specific time. It is granted at the completion of a claim when a claim succeeds.

If a person disobeys an injunction, it is considered a contempt of court and as a result, he/she may be fined, imprisoned, or his/her assets may be seized.
