Fee Rates

Solicitors’ Inn Ltd offers both fixed fee and hourly rate fees. The exact agreement to be reached will be agreed upon between the firm and the client varying the evaluation of each client’s case, the work involved and the time and resources required to achieve the client’s legal requirements.

Fees for Motoring Offences

 We charge a fixed fee for Motoring Offences and estimates of the amount payable are under

The work that will be undertaken will include:

  • Considering Related Evidence
  • Providing advice in relation to plea and likely sentence
  • Where you cannot foresee the likely sentence, advice on the options available to the court in relation to sentencing
  • Where appropriate, advice on whether an exceptional hardship or special reasons argument should be made
  • Representation at a single hearing

The time spent on the above preparation will be approximately 3 hours plus representation at the hearing at a fixed rate of £450 plus Vat.  This figure does not include any additional work in relation to:

  • Instructions of any expert witnesses (approximately 1 hour)
  • Expert fees (£330-1,050 plus VAT)
  • Taking statements from any witnesses (approximately 1 hour – 1 hour 45 minutes per witness)
  • Any advice and assistance in relation to a special reasons hearing (approximately 1 hour)
  • Any Advice or assistance in relation to any appeal (approximately 1 hour)

Our fixed fee charges range from £1850.00 – £3000.00
An estimate of fees for a Drink driving offence, guilty plea – fixed fee £2000 plus VAT

FEE INCLUDES:

  • 2 hours attendance/preparation:
  • Considering evidence
  • Taking your instructions
  • Providing advice on likely sentence
  • Attendance and representation at a single hearing at the Magistrates Court

The fee does not include the items below that may be required and will incur additional costs that we will discuss with you in advance:

  • Instruction of any expert witnesses (approximately 1 hour)
  • Expert fees (£400 -£1,100 plus VAT)
  • Taking statements from any witnesses (approximately 1 hour – 1 hour 45 minutes per witness)
  • Advice and assistance in relation to a special reason hearing (approximately 1 hour)
  • Advice or assistance in relation to any appeal (approximately 1 hour)

The key stages of your matter are based on the presumption that you have entered a guilty plea and have a date for your hearing.

  • Meet with your solicitor to provide instructions on what happened.
  • We will consider initial disclosure, and any other evidence and provide advice.
  • Arranging to take any witness statements if necessary (this will have an additional cost, of approximately £200 plus Vat per witness).
  • We will explain the court procedure to you so you know what to expect on the day of your hearing, and the sentencing options available to the court.
  • We will conduct any further preparatory work, obtain further instructions from you if necessary and answer any follow-up queries you have.
  • We cannot provide a timescale of when your hearing will take place, as this depends on the court listing for that day.
  • We will attend court on the day and meet with you before going before the court. We anticipate being at court for [e.g. half a day].

We will discuss the outcome with you. If advice is required on appeal, this will carry an additional cost that we will discuss with you.  This may be undertaken as a fixed fee or at our hourly rate.
